The unique
Remote MMI Solution with PS/2
General Description
The REMMI leaves no MMI wishes open in industrial as well as other
applications. In general LCD’s have to be connected in a distance of about
20cm from a host to insure a trouble free transmission. The Remote MMI Solution
from MPL allows to extend this distance with the PanelLink® technology to up to
15 Meter. Unique on this solution are the two PS/2 interfaces for Mouse and
Keyboard that are being provided over a distance of 15 Meters. Further more the
new product offers also on the LCD a RS232 and/or TLL level as well as a USB
connection possibility. An additional handy feature is the onboard Flash
controller for user defined application. Optional can even power for the LCD and
backlight be provided through the MPL MMI solution.
The new product consist of 2 individual boards; the transmitter (REMMI-T),
the receiver module (REMMI-R) and optionally a cable in various lengths.
The transmitter module is designed that it can easy be connected via a
connector to the PIP or other MPL products as well as other Industrial PC’s
available in the market. The connection from the REMMI-T to the receiver or
panel is being done through a standard DB-26 connector.
Selection of REMMI specialities
The receiver module (REMMI-R) can be mounted direct on the back of the LCD
panel. Available on board of the REMMI-R board are two PS/2 ports (6-pol.
mini-DIN) for Mouse and Keyboard, a RS232 over a DB-9, a USB ports with a
standard connector. If a Touch is needed then it can be connected on the RS232
or the PS/2 mouse interface. The PIP product in combination with the REMMI is
able supply over the REMMI up to 10 Watts for LCD, Inverter and Touch.
Those features make
This unique Remote MMI solution is ideal for application that require next to
the remote MMI also the support of Mouse & Keyboard. Such a solution can
help to differentiate the end product. The REMMI can be used with MPL products
as well as with non MPL IPC.
